Previous reports stated that Intel would bring Nova Lake-S to the desktop platform next year as part of the Core Ultra 4000 series. Apparently, Intel has slightly adjusted its current naming convention, switching from the three-digit numbers used in other Core Ultra models back to the four-digit format from the old Core i era.
According to TECHPOWERUP, Intel's new "Core Ultra 4000 series" naming scheme will not be limited to desktop platforms; the mobile Nova Lake-HX will also adopt the same four-digit format. However, for other mobile platforms like the regular Nova Lake-H, the previous three-digit format may still be used, although there are also rumors that the four-digit format will cover the entire lineup.
Nova Lake-S and Nova Lake-HX are essentially the same chip; the former supports the LGA 1954 socket, while the latter uses an LGA package.
Another point to clarify concerns the previously circulated information about the Core Ultra 4000 series. The initial lineup consists of seven products, three of which are bLLC versions. Early reports indicated that only versions equipped with bLLC (large last-level cache) would include LP E-Cores, while standard versions would not. The new information suggests that although the leaked tables did not mention it, standard versions will also retain LP E-Cores.
