The King of Cameos Returns: Hideo Kojima will once again reprise his role in the Cyberpunk series for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2.
Hideo Kojima will return as Hideyoshi Oshima, the Braindance editor who appeared at Kinbura Plaza in one of the earliest and most memorable missions in Cyberpunk 2077, when V attempted to steal a biochip from under Arasaka's nose.
The official Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Twitter account announced, "You might remember him appearing at Kinbura Plaza during the heist in 2077. Now, the famous Braindance director will return to Night City."
On his radio show KOJI10, Hideo Kojima stated, "Directors and others have invited me to appear. One is a major live-action film, and the other is a significant animated work."
Following the announcement, CD Projekt Red Co-CEO Michal Nowakowski stated, "It's always a pleasure to work with Hideo Kojima." Perhaps we should have seen this coming. After all, Kojima recently hinted at making cameo appearances across various media.

Hideo Kojima added, perhaps with a tacit hint at his role as "Oshima" in the Cyberpunk 2077 series, "I don't like playing myself. It happens often. I'd rather play roles like a detective."
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 will premiere on Netflix starting October 20.
