CD Projekt Red has begun rolling out update 5.01 for The Witcher 3: Remastered. The patch focuses on improving image clarity, stability, and save file safety for the Switch 2 version, adjusting sharpening and resolution in response to feedback about blurry visuals in handheld mode.
Switch 2-specific fixes include rare crashes when switching game regions, HD rumble only activating on the left Joy-Con 2 when climbing ladders, and map markers appearing in the black bars around the map. The developers have fixed bugs that could affect save data and added measures to handle already affected saves, while also optimizing cache processing required for cross-platform mod support.
General visual and performance adjustments have been made to bloom, tone mapping, character lighting, ray tracing, and path tracing, with new options added for bloom, light shafts, and depth of field. The patch also fixes visual artifacts caused by dynamic resolution on specific configurations and reduces excessive brightness in certain scenes.
Gameplay fixes address issues such as sword oil application failing, ships losing control and ignoring collisions, delayed dodge responses, and dodging during a sprint depleting stamina. Several skill values, UI prompts, tutorials, and audio glitches have also been corrected, and Ukrainian localization is now available in all regions.
