Douglas Reilly, Vice President of Lucasfilm Games, stated that the company is striving for greater flexibility when reviewing project proposals, as great ideas can come from various sources. Development teams do not need to be affiliated with major publishers, but Lucasfilm maintains high quality standards, typically choosing teams with proven track records and demonstrated development capabilities over newcomers lacking relevant experience.

Currently known projects include the third Star Wars Jedi game developed by Respawn, the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake, and Star Wars: Fate of the Republic, led by Casey Hudson.

However, not all greenlit projects ultimately reach release. The action RPG Star Wars: Magellan, for instance, had gameplay footage leaked but never officially launched. Therefore, what Lucasfilm Games is currently revealing is its future direction for collaborations; it remains uncertain which team or gameplay style will be featured in the next announcement.
