CD Projekt Red announced that the first episode of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will be streamed for free on its official Twitch channel on October 20, offering a public viewing opportunity for audiences without a Netflix subscription.
The core significance of this Twitch livestream is to lower the barrier to watching the first episode and amplify the buzz around the premiere event.
The official schedule lists three time slots: 00:01, 12:00, and 21:00 CEST, with corresponding adjustments for other time zones. Selected streamers will also simulcast the episode on their own channels, and viewers can unlock exclusive Twitch chat badges for the event.
The free viewing is limited to the first episode; episodes two through ten still require Netflix. The second season will drop all 10 episodes at once on October 20, positioned as a new standalone story set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, centered on themes of redemption and revenge, and exploring how far characters must go in a city that glorifies violent spectacle to have their stories seen.
Regarding the cast, Hideo Kojima will reprise his role from Cyberpunk 2077 as Hideyoshi Oshima; new characters include D, voiced by Kouki Uchiyama and Nazeeh Tarsha, Roman Carrax, who wields a camera, and an noticeably older Weak Kingsley, voiced by Clancy Brown.
