GTA 6 Art Team Has About 65 Members, More Than Ten Times the Size During GTA 5 Development

Citing information provided by journalist Jason Schreier, ComicBook reported that the team at Rockstar Games responsible for the art production pipeline consisted of about 5 to 6 members during the development of Grand Theft Auto V, while the corresponding team for GTA VI now has around 65 people, representing a more than tenfold increase in size.

The art production team mentioned here does not refer to all art creators, but rather to the production department responsible for integrating large volumes of art assets into the game and ensuring these contents are effectively organized and utilized.

As the game world expands and visual details increase, the number of assets and collaborative processes required for the project rises. Therefore, the expansion of this team can be seen as an indication of increased production scale and process complexity.

ComicBook speculates that the new title may feature greater detail and reduced asset reuse. The game is scheduled to launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19. A PC version has not yet been announced, and the initial release will include only the single-player campaign.
