NEOWIZ announced today that Chasing the Light of Doom, a narrative puzzle-adventure game published by them and developed by JINO Games, will participate in Steam Next Fest.

Steam Next Fest is an online event hosted by Steam, the global PC gaming platform, where players can freely try out demos of unreleased games. This year's event runs from October 20th to 27th. During this period, all players can freely experience the new demo of Chasing the Light of Doom on Steam. The demo supports ten languages, including Korean, English, and Simplified Chinese, and is available to players worldwide.

This demo has been comprehensively optimized based on the original version. The development team has adjusted puzzles, exploration, visual presentation, and controls based on player feedback collected during the previous demo and Beta test, offering a different gameplay experience from earlier versions.

This demo more fully presents the unique emotional atmosphere of Chasing the Light of Doom: Players will explore familiar yet unfamiliar Seoul streetscapes, uncovering the stories of its inhabitants. With the opening of new narrative areas, players can also get an early taste of previously unrevealed content:

This demo expands the playable area and introduces some new puzzles in the newly added regions, allowing players to focus more on exploring environments and solving puzzles.

Additionally, the game's visual presentation and narrative immersion have been further enhanced. The development team has adjusted and refined certain background and object art elements, added scene details and sound effects, and optimized controls and user convenience. While maintaining the original pacing, players will be able to explore broader scenes and further experience the story of Chasing the Light of Doom.

Meanwhile, to celebrate participation in this Steam Next Fest, the official team has revealed new key art for the first time.

This key art features Seoul, the game's central stage, using post-disaster cityscapes and character emotions to further showcase the unique worldview and emotional atmosphere of Chasing the Light of Doom.

Chasing the Light of Doom is a narrative puzzle-adventure game set in near-future Seoul. The story takes place in Seoul, which is facing an impending asteroid impact. The protagonist, Ro Yeon, searches for clues related to a space evacuation plan while discovering her true self. The game presents Seoul's streetscape in 2.5D pixel art, emphasizing exploration, environmental puzzles, and humanistic storytelling.

JINO Games CEO Kim Jin-ho stated: "Through the previous Beta test, we gained insights into players' actual experiences and identified areas needing improvement. We are refining certain aspects based on the feedback received and plan to continue polishing the game before its official release."

He also stated: "The demo for this Steam Next Fest expands the playable content from previous releases, adding new game areas and some brand-new puzzles. We hope players who experienced the earlier demo will also check out the new additions. We are going all out to present a more polished product upon official release."

Chasing the Light of Doom is coming soon to Steam. Players can visit the Steam store page to add the game to their wishlist.
