Hacker Gezine Claims to Have Cracked PS5 System 14.10, Tools Not Yet Released

Hacker Gezine claims to have cracked the current PS5 system version 14.10 and demonstrated the developer menu. The related exploit has not yet been released to the public, and its authenticity, vulnerability details, compatible models, and reproducibility remain to be verified.

Some online users speculate that the cracking tool may not be made public soon to prevent Sony from patching the vulnerability before the release of GTA VI. However, existing materials do not prove any connection between withholding the exploit and waiting for the game's launch.

This speculation is also linked to another unconfirmed report. After the previous system version 13.60 was cracked, rumors circulated online that GTA VI might require a higher system version to make piracy more difficult, with version 14.00 mentioned as the target. The required system version for the game has not yet been confirmed.

The PS5 cracking scene has previously seen similar ongoing cat-and-mouse games. The piracy store Overdrive once allowed users to download over 1,600 games for free; after Sony facilitated its shutdown, the original GitHub repository went offline and the app stopped working, but within hours other users created forks and released new versions.
