"The Apothecary Diaries" Season 3 Ranks Ninth on Netflix Global Weekly Chart Despite Regional Restrictions

Despite limited availability on Netflix, "The Apothecary Diaries" Season 3 has still made it into the platform's global weekly top 10. According to Netflix Tudum, the season garnered over 1.5 million views between October 5 and 11, 2026, ranking ninth globally.

Season 3 is currently available on Netflix only in select Asian regions, while Netflix libraries in the US and other areas only include Season 1. In the US and several other markets, Season 3 is primarily released weekly on Crunchyroll. Compared to "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run" and "The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World" Season 2 on the same chart, this season faces more significant regional restrictions.

Picking up where Season 2 left off, Maomao has left the imperial harem, and Jinshi no longer manages it as a eunuch, instead assuming his royal duties as the emperor's younger brother and the Moon Lord. Season 3 adapts Volume 5 of the light novel, opening with a severe locust plague that hints at potential food crises and famine risks. Sensing something amiss, Maomao begins investigating the cause.

Season 3 will be split into two parts, with the second half scheduled to premiere in April 2027. The series' first feature-length film is set for release in Japan in December of the same year, with its story taking place between Volumes 4 and 5 of the novel.
