Q-Games launched the first playable demo of PixelJunk Monsters 3 during the Steam Next Fest, which began on October 20. Developed to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the PixelJunk Monsters series, this installment adds Roguelike mechanics to the original tower defense gameplay.
PixelJunk Monsters 3 continues the gameplay of personally moving around the battlefield and building defensive towers. Players need to run across the map, constructing towers through dance moves to hold back waves of monsters swarming toward their base.
This title incorporates Roguelike elements into the tower defense gameplay, aiming to enhance strategic choices and replay value for each session. The developers also emphasized the game's visual presentation, with hand-drawn artwork rendered in 4K resolution.
The demo is available for a limited time only during the Steam Next Fest, with no specific end time announced yet. The release window for the full version of PixelJunk Monsters 3 has also not been disclosed.
