Gather ingredients along forest paths, return to the chicken-legged hut to cook, and continue exploring with animal companions. Reka weaves gathering, crafting, and encounters on the road into the daily life of a witch's apprentice. For players who enjoy solitary exploration, collecting materials, and having animal companions, this single-player adventure game is worth checking out.
Players take on the role of Reka, apprentice to the legendary witch Baba Yaga, traveling through forests, swamps, and villages to practice witchcraft. This single-player game features no combat, with the journey centered around exploration, quests, crafting, and building.
Ingredients such as honey, berries, and wheat can be gathered during exploration, stored in the chicken-legged hut, and then used at the stove to prepare meals. Prepared food can be used for quests and certain rituals.
Animals can also become companions on your journey. Players can discover and tame animals while exploring, bringing them back home. Cats can follow players as companions during exploration, occasionally guiding them to interesting discoveries, adding a touch of companionship to the witch's journey.
Villagers will bring new commissions; players can accept quests and decide how to respond to their needs. Spirits and secrets are hidden within the forests and swamps, waiting to be discovered through exploration.
The game also offers character appearance customization, allowing players to shape Reka's look according to their preferences and embark on the journey as the witch they imagine.
Currently, the free demo supports Simplified Chinese, allowing players to experience Chapter 1 of the story, explore the forest, practice witchcraft, and begin building their own chicken-legged hut.
The current Early Access version of the full game does not yet support Simplified Chinese. The 1.0 official release will launch on Steam on October 26, 2026, featuring official Simplified Chinese support and presenting Reka's complete story.
Reka: The Mobile Workshop is developed by Emberstorm Entertainment and published jointly by Fireshine Games and Shochiku Games.
