The narrative adventure game "Beast Barber" is participating in the Steam Next Fest in October 2026. The demo is now available for download, with simultaneous updates adding Korean and Japanese language support. The event runs from 1:00 AM on October 20 to 1:00 AM on October 27 (Taiwan Time).
Developed by Slow Walk Games, with development assistance and publishing by SIGONO, this title casts players as Fidi, a barber running a salon in an animal city. By cutting hair, observing reactions, and engaging in daily conversations, players uncover their customers' styling expectations and personal troubles, driving character interactions and plot progression.
A mysterious mirror in the game allows customers to preview hairstyles before getting a cut, but it has limited uses. Players must combine conversation cues and customer feedback to determine the style they truly desire. The main storyline revolves around a demon within the mirror: whenever Fidi creates a hairstyle that satisfies it, the demon alters a part of Fidi's past that he regrets. Players need to continuously serve customers, accumulate resources, and find ways to give the demon a haircut.
According to the developers, the game's wishlist count surpassed 100,000 within seven days of the demo's release. Currently, its Steam page has accumulated over 1,000 player reviews, with a 99% positive rating.
This localization update involved native Japanese speakers who adjusted character dialogue styles, tones, and specific wording. The team also confirmed that the full release will support Korean, and Korean content has already been added to the current demo.
