FuRyu's Cry of Fear has been confirmed for participation in "Steam Next Fest: October 2026 Edition," offering an updated demo. This marks the title's final appearance in such a demo event before its October 29 release, with its Steam wishlist count now exceeding 120,000.
Prior to this, the team conducted closed beta tests, released a combat demo, and showcased the game at domestic and international exhibitions. Set in Showa-era Japan, the game casts players as Reona Minazuki, a girl searching for her missing friend, as she investigates a special dimension known as the "Otherworld" and battles anomalies. The scenario is written by Romeo Tanaka.
The developers originally created a commemorative video for surpassing 100,000 wishlists, a figure that has since risen to 120,000. FuRyu's other new title, Unveiling the Otherworld, will also participate in this Next Fest. Featuring a roguelike action system, players can combine poker-style skill cards to form hands and build combat strategies. Currently, Unveiling the Otherworld has over 77,700 wishlists, bringing the combined total for both titles to over 200,000.
Cry of Fear will also collaborate with the cyberpunk immersive sim Fate's Turn, developed by the Polish team 9th EXODUS™, with details yet to be announced. Unveiling the Otherworld plans to collaborate with Witch's Garden, Dreamy Magic Princess, and Endless Phantom Sakura Pavilion. The two new titles are scheduled to launch on Steam, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 29 and November 5, respectively.
