On October 19, DetonatioN FocusMe announced that the team was not selected for the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) partnered teams for the 2027 season and beyond, with their current VCT partnership set to end in 2026. However, DFM confirmed that its VALORANT division will continue to operate.
In their statement, DFM thanked the fans who have supported the team since the start of VCT Pacific in 2023, as well as the players and coaches who competed alongside them and helped build the team's history. The club stated that it will continue to aim for "challenging the world from Japan" based on the history and experience accumulated over the years, striving to return to the international stage.
DFM has not yet announced its specific roster and organizational structure for 2027, stating that details will be provided once finalized. Meiy, who competed in events such as VCT Pacific during the 2026 season, reflected on his three seasons with the team, describing DFM as an excellent organization and thanking the players, coaches, staff, and fans.
In the same round of partner team selections, South Korea's KIWOOM DRX also confirmed it was not selected. The team stated that it has been part of the VALORANT competitive ecosystem since its days as Vision Strikers, and its commitment will not change due to the outcome of this selection.
The 2027 VCT CUP Pacific is scheduled to be held in Tokyo. Although DFM's partnered team slot will end in 2026, the VALORANT division will not be disbanded, and further arrangements await the club's announcement regarding its 2027 structure.
