Today, the full-motion video interactive game Hidden Detective, jointly produced by Dayu Kuaiyou, Baina Qiancheng, Zhonghui Film & TV, and Huanrui Planet, and jointly published by Fenglin Studio and Yixiangfeng Interactive Technology, was officially announced. The game will launch on Steam on December 2nd. Directed by Li Mobai and starring talented actors including Li Siyang, Chu Xu, Pan Mingyun, An Yongchang, Tian Yifan, Chen Guanying, and Ding Mu, players will step into the shoes of agent "Hu Yang" and personally experience the intrigue-filled Republican legend of the 1920s.
Set in Shanghai during the tumultuous Republican era, Hidden Detective casts players as "Hu Yang," an amnesiac agent trapped in a complex web of competing factions. Fragmented memories, unreliable intelligence, and multiple disguised identities intertwine as you peel back the layers to uncover the massive mystery behind your own past. Every dialogue choice and critical decision steers the story down different paths, forcing difficult compromises between national duty and personal emotion, unlocking multiple storylines and endings with no single correct answer.
The free demo was previously released on Steam, earning a 97% Overwhelmingly Positive rating. During this New Release Festival, the free trial demo features new content and optimizations for bugs found in the previous version. Classic actors Zhuang Xiaoman, Fang Min, and Mutou Junko make a grand return, portraying new roles to evoke nostalgia among long-time fans. Additionally, new gameplay mechanics such as QTE-based confrontations and clue deduction have been added to enhance the immersive agent experience, catering to both story-focused players and those who enjoy real-time interaction. Even newcomers to interactive FMV games can smoothly enjoy the complete story.
After years of refinement, we have strived to recreate the texture of that turbulent era in Hidden Detective.
