Tales of Eternia Remastered launched on October 15 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam. The new version improves environmental graphics and adds full English voice-acted skits along with various quality-of-life features.
This release appears to be based on the 2006 PlayStation Portable version. The original game was released in North America in 2001 under the title Tales of Destiny 2. This remake adds the full English voice-acted skits that were missing from the original North American release, while keeping the story and character content unchanged.
New features include world map navigation markers, adjustable random encounter rates, an auto-battle high-speed mode, and a new difficulty called "Unknown." The battle system also adds retry and quick recovery options to help new players get accustomed to the gameplay. Players can also switch freely between the remastered visuals and audio and the original presentation via display and sound modes.
The Standard Edition is priced at $29.99, while the $49.99 Deluxe Edition includes a digital art book, an original soundtrack with over 100 tracks, a Growth Pack, and an option to replace the background music with tracks from earlier entries in the series. At the time of this writing, the game holds a 4.7 user rating on the PlayStation Store and an 83% positive review rate on Steam.
