"Lailu," a Zelda-like action-adventure puzzle game developed solo by UK indie developer Jamie Rowan, has been confirmed for participation in the Steam October Next Fest (October 20, 15:00 to October 27, 14:59). During the event, players can visit the Steam Next Fest page to try out the latest demo and add the game to their wishlist.
"Lailu" is an action-adventure exploration game that blends inspiration from classic "The Legend of Zelda" and "Metroid." Players take on the role of a clockwork toy that has just gained self-awareness and yearns for freedom. To resist the evil Clockwork King, players must explore diverse environments within the factory, collect various tools, solve puzzles, battle hostile toys, and face off against towering toy titans.
The game features a unique black-and-white art style, combining traditional pixel art with smooth 3D animations to present a modernized retro visual experience. Players can experience core content including exploration, combat, puzzle-solving, and boss battles.
The game also includes color assistance features, allowing players to add highlights or change the protagonist's color in the settings to enhance visual recognition.
Explore the perilous factory, collect hidden Cuckoo items, and give them to the NPC Naonao to increase your maximum health. Additionally, hidden chests are scattered throughout the factory; opening them yields treasures—nuts—which can be used to purchase outfits or maps.
Face off against the demo's boss—the Gashapon King. Observe its attack patterns, use your items, charge up to the right strength, and land a perfect hit.
The demo for "Lailu" is now fully available and has officially launched during the Steam Next Fest. Get ready to embark on a charming monochrome adventure!
