NVIDIA and Mercedes-Benz have announced a deepened strategic partnership to jointly drive the development of next-generation assisted driving systems. This collaboration integrates Mercedes-Benz's automotive engineering expertise, extensive experience in safety, and the MB.OS operating system, along with NVIDIA's accelerated computing and AI technologies.
Mercedes-Benz stated that deepening the partnership is an important milestone, reflecting the mutual trust built over many years, and expressed hope to jointly promote more pioneering technologies for road application, providing customers with an exceptional assisted driving experience. NVIDIA noted that accelerated computing is empowering vehicles with the intelligence to understand their surroundings and reason through complex driving scenarios, highlighting Mercedes-Benz's outstanding engineering capabilities and unwavering commitment to safety required for this transformation.
Mercedes-Benz's MB.OS operating system supports new driving features and over-the-air (OTA) updates, running in synergy with the NVIDIA Hyperion computing and sensor architecture. The NVIDIA Alpamayo Stack provides full-stack driving software with AI inference capabilities, supporting point-to-point assisted driving in urban environments, active safety, and automated parking. NVIDIA Halos further strengthens Mercedes-Benz's safety framework, with its parallel safety technology stack offering redundancy and security guarantees. These technologies will collectively support advanced assisted driving features and the development of future SAE Level 4 autonomous driving applications, including autonomous luxury sedans.
In addition to assisted driving, Mercedes-Benz is also adopting NVIDIA technology in its automotive engineering simulation and the MO360 digital production ecosystem, with applications ranging from virtual planning to AI. In the future, NVIDIA and Mercedes-Benz will continue their efforts to further enhance the efficiency, flexibility, and quality of Mercedes-Benz's global production network.
