The animated series "Edgerunners 2" is now streaming. Today, CDPR announced the "Edgerunners 2" update for Cyberpunk 2077, version 2.5, confirming its release on Thursday, October 22. The specific update details have not yet been disclosed by the officials.
CDPR has not yet clarified whether the 2.5 update includes new missions, gear, character content, system adjustments, or technical fixes. The full patch notes are still pending. This update is also not equivalent to a new paid expansion.
In May this year, CD Projekt stated that there are currently no plans to continue producing DLCs or expansion packs for Cyberpunk 2077.
Meanwhile, development of Cyberpunk 2 is lagging behind The Witcher 4. Previous statements from CD Projekt's Joint CEO Michał Nowakowski suggest that Cyberpunk 2 may not launch until at least 2030. With future titles still a long way off, the 2.5 update represents a rare new development for the base game of Cyberpunk 2077 at this stage.
