Recent data from Sensor Tower shows that digital pre-orders for GTA VI have climbed to 6.45 million copies. PlayStation accounts for 74% of pre-orders, approximately 4.8 million copies, generating $468 million in revenue. The remaining 26% comes from Xbox Series consoles, totaling around 1.65 million copies and $162 million in revenue. Pre-orders are not yet available on PC, so the statistics only include the two major console platforms.
Analysts note that there is still some time before the official release on November 19, so pre-order numbers will continue to rise. The high pre-order volume underscores the market hype for this title as a blockbuster in entertainment history. However, these statistics only cover digital pre-orders and exclude physical disc versions, meaning the actual total pre-order scale will exceed 6.45 million copies.
The higher share on PlayStation aligns with the series' historical performance, as the GTA franchise has long maintained a larger user base on PlayStation. However, pre-order figures do not equate to final sales, as some orders may be refunded.
