CDPR has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will update to version 2.5 on October 22, 2026, with the changes officially presented via a REDstream broadcast. The developer has already teased cyberware appearance customization, new dual-wielding mechanics, and updates tied to the second season of the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
Before the official reveal, a video accidentally published and later set to private appears to have leaked a feature list. The leaked content suggests the update will add two side quests: "Clampdown," set before the second season of the anime, and "Welcome to Paradise," which will take V on a mysterious tour of Night City.
The "Cool" skill tree is reportedly gaining a new perk called "Double Trouble," allowing players to dual-wield powerful pistols or revolvers, along with several secondary abilities. Other leaked details include a new radio station featuring music from both seasons of the anime, five new characters with customizable arm and hand cyberware appearances, five outfits, as well as additional hairstyles and Photo Mode options.
Console versions are said to receive mod support via mod.io, though enabling mods will prevent trophies from being earned on the corresponding save files. The update may also add a FOV slider for consoles, save file folders, and stash filtering, while fixing HDR issues on PS5 and various other bugs. Most of these details still come from a video that has since been taken down, so official confirmation awaits the livestream or patch notes.
