The second season of the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is now available on Netflix, with all 10 episodes released at once. The new season continues to be set in Night City and the world of Cyberpunk 2077, but no longer follows David Martinez's story, instead unfolding an independent narrative centered on redemption, revenge, and survival.
The story focuses on four new characters. Wick "King" Kingsley was once a legendary mercenary but has now lost all his cyberware; Netrunner Di hails from the destroyed "Serpent People" clan and seeks revenge; Talia Yang fled her corporate family to join the Maelstrom gang and became obsessed with cybernetic enhancements; and film enthusiast Roman Karax is tasked with documenting the team's struggle for survival.
Season 2 is once again produced by Trigger and CD Projekt Red, with Hiromi Wakabayashi as director. The writing team includes Bartosz Sztybor and Masahiko Otsuka. Hideo Kojima also lends his voice this season, portraying Hideki Oshima, the Braindance producer from Cyberpunk 2077. The promotional tagline for this season translates to "You can't escape your own mind."
The new season retains Night City and its world setting, but character relationships and main conflicts start anew; it is not a direct sequel following the first season's ending. With all 10 episodes released simultaneously, viewers can now watch the story of this new team in its entirety.
