Recently, the official team for Red Desert released a Chinese preview video for the DLC "The Unknown Journey," giving players an early look at the new adventures coming in the expansion. The official release schedule for each region was also announced, with the Beijing time launch set for 6:00 AM on Friday, October 30.
New Stories
"The Unknown Journey" adds new stories for Cliff, Onka, and Demian. After completing the main storyline, you can view the new quests via the "Adventure Log" menu.
Additionally, completing the main story quest "Wolf Hill" will unlock new ocean-themed quests.
Ocean Exploration
In "The Unknown Journey," Cliff, Onka, and Demian will brave the waves to explore the underwater world of Pawel. In the deep sea, you'll discover ruins, treasure chests, new creatures, and even experience new mounts.
Although diving requires no special preparation, your breath gauge depletes while underwater. Preparing items or equipment like diving suits in advance will allow you to explore the fantastical seabed more comfortably and efficiently.
But that's not all. In "The Unknown Journey," you can build your own ships and sail across the vast oceans of Pawel. After establishing a Graymane Camp in "Wolf Hill," related quests will unlock, allowing you to start crafting ships upon completion.
If you wish to build ships yourself, you can send companions to the port to undertake shipbuilding tasks, or purchase them directly from the ship manager.
Romance & Festivals
In "The Unknown Journey," Cliff, Onka, and Demian can form special relationships with specific characters. By interacting with residents of Pawel and building trust, you can develop romantic relationships and even get married.
These newfound bonds will also inject fresh vitality into the "Graymane Camp." Once the camp reaches a certain level, friends with whom you've built strong relationships will visit and spend time with you, making the camp livelier and more vibrant than ever before.
Upgraded Housing System
In "The Unknown Journey," you will experience a fully upgraded housing system, allowing you to build your own home from scratch.
After establishing a camp in Wolf Hill and completing "Luke's Request" from the Graymane faction quests in "Land of the Rising Sun," you can use both the original housing system and the newly upgraded one.
City of Graymane
In "The Unknown Journey," you can claim three specific castles as your personal spaces. After finishing the main story or related quests and liberating the strongholds where these castles are located, you can unlock quests to acquire them. Once owned, you can customize the courtyards and interiors using unique furniture and decorations.
Management Gameplay
You can lease and operate various facilities across Pawel, such as restaurants in Belua or blacksmith shops at the Zazargan Chariot Manufactory. Once you complete the faction quests to liberate an area and establish a Graymane Camp, you can access these facilities through the "Map" menu.
Trial Garden - New Combat Content
"The Unknown Journey" introduces new combat content. In the "Garden of Trials," you will sequentially challenge bosses encountered during your adventures in Pawel. This mode unlocks after completing all main story quests, and successful challengers will receive exclusive rewards.
