2 Ton Studios, the developer behind Until the Last, has announced the sci-fi adventure game Magenta Down, set to release in 2027 on Xbox Series and PC (Steam and Microsoft Store).

The concept behind Magenta Down is simple: you and your crew have crashed and are now scattered across the surface of a harsh, remote exoplanet. With limited resources and a hostile environment, can you reunite with your crew and escape alive?
We wanted to create an atmospheric journey about pressing forward and facing the consequences of the decisions you make along the way. For us, the thrill of adventure lies in making tough choices with incomplete information and dealing with their outcomes.
While enduring the planet's harsh weather and radiation, you must assess your situation and decide where to go next. This might mean heading toward flickering lights, which often mark crashed supply pods, or following the beacon of the nearest reactivated antenna array in hopes of locating the next industrial outpost.
Whether you're traversing the surface or navigating abandoned mines, these journeys can be fraught with danger. For instance, encountering a storm significantly increases your radiation exposure while reducing visibility. As your Geiger counter clicks and radiation levels rise, it's crucial to stay alert for creatures, essential supplies, and shelters where you can take cover from the storm.
Beyond the environment, the planet's creatures present unique challenges. Once provoked, they become extremely fast and dangerous. However, the key to combat lies in holding your ground and waiting for the right moment to strike back, rather than relying on precise aiming or complex button inputs.
