Elden Ring has released minor patch 1.17.2, displayed as update 1.018.002 on relevant platforms. This update covers console and PC versions, excluding the Switch 2 version; the patch adds no new content, primarily fixing bugs and closing an arrow exploit.
After the update, firing Bone Arrows and Feathered Bone Arrows using specific methods will no longer produce abnormal status accumulation effects. The patch also fixes an issue where character models displayed incorrectly when the "Hide Headgear" option was enabled while wearing the Golden Tattoo Chestplate.
Another fix involves a specific weapon combination: when players hold a Repeating Crossbow in their left hand and Leonine Greatsword in their right hand while using related skills, the left-hand image may previously have failed to render correctly. Some text in the credits has also been corrected, and network functionality security has been further enhanced for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions.
The publicly disclosed information also mentions PC stuttering and frame time fluctuations, unexpected crashes and freezes, as well as technical issues with co-op summoning and multiplayer connectivity. However, it does not confirm that these issues have been resolved with this patch, so they are not considered official fixes in version 1.17.2.
