"Nintendo Switch Sports: Resort" and "Beyond The Dark - Nightwatch" will simultaneously launch on the Switch 2 on October 22. These two exclusive new titles focus respectively on motion-controlled sports and two-player asymmetric cooperative horror, with distinct gameplay and hardware utilization approaches.
"Nintendo Switch Sports: Resort" continues Nintendo's motion-controlled sports gameplay, adding events such as skateboarding, jet skiing, propeller planes, archery, table tennis, and thumb wrestling, while classic events like bowling and boxing also return.
The game utilizes the Switch 2 Joy-Con's motion-sensing capabilities depending on the sport. During archery, players use one controller to simulate holding the bow and the other to draw the string, leveraging the new hardware to expand control options.
"Beyond The Dark - Nightwatch" is designed specifically for the Switch 2. Two players must explore a haunted mansion inhabited by invisible entities. One player enters the building to act, while the other observes dangers via video surveillance and guides their teammate.
The game combines handheld mode with local play sharing, allowing two players to take on exploration and surveillance roles respectively. Two new titles will launch on the same day, showcasing the Switch 2's applications in motion controls and asymmetric cooperative mechanics.
