Independent studio CONCODE unveiled a new trailer for the puzzle-action adventure game Graytail on October 21, announcing a planned release for late 2027. Set on a small isolated island in the Pacific Ocean, players take on the role of a detective investigating the island's hidden secrets while searching for a missing female pilot.
Graytail features an exploration and puzzle-solving structure similar to The Legend of Zelda. Characters can grab, throw, and jump, using primary and secondary weapons such as canes, umbrellas, and frisbees to solve puzzles, while exploring a total of five areas on a motorcycle.
CONCODE consists of just two people, and Graytail has been in development for nearly four years. The game has amassed over 50,000 wishlists on Steam. The current demo has received 102 reviews, with a 98% positive rating, earning an overall status of "Overwhelmingly Positive."
The game has also received investment from Outersloth, the independent game fund under Innersloth. Contributors include Casey Yano, co-founder of Mega Crit Games, the developer behind the Slay the Spire series. The team plans to use this funding to improve the combat system while enhancing the quality of the story and exploration areas.
The current demo will be available until November 2026, with a new demo featuring updated combat content to be released afterward. Graytail is scheduled to launch on Steam, Microsoft Store, and Xbox Series X|S, supporting Xbox Play Anywhere. The development team also plans to expand the game to other platforms in the future.
