"Vomit Goddess: Goblet Trick" Cancels Steam Public Demo, Switches to Closed Beta!

Publisher Alliance Arts and developer Who You have announced the cancellation of the public demo for "Goddess of Vomit: The Goblet Gambit," originally scheduled for release on Steam on October 19. Instead, access will be limited to a closed online test for a select group of participants.

The team is concerned that visuals and gameplay footage from the public demo could be exploited by others, who might then use AI or other tools to quickly create simplified clones, potentially even releasing them before the original. The developers believe that imitators could thereby seize creative ideas and audience attention ahead of time, which poses a particular risk for smaller teams. There is currently no evidence indicating that actual counterfeit products have appeared, nor any proof pointing to third parties copying this game.

Players wishing to participate in the closed beta must join the Discord server via the link provided in the Steam announcement, read the rules in advance, and agree to comply. The team stated that they currently lack the capacity to effectively control the distribution restrictions of demo videos and live streams, and thus decided to narrow the scope of the experience. They apologize for the last-minute change in plans.

"Goddess of Vomit: The Goblet Gambit" features an animation style dominated by pink and purple hues, where players engage in a dangerous game of "alcoholic Russian roulette" with a demon girl who loves the protagonist so much she's willing to kill him. Only the public demo has been canceled; the full game remains in development, with the PC version still scheduled for release on Steam on December 8, 2026.
