CYCLOPS GAMES has announced that the survival Roguelite game SKROLL is now available for demo on Steam. Players must continuously browse short videos on their phones, using likes or reports to alter the recommendation algorithm, and complete each night's objectives before their battery drains or sleepiness becomes overwhelming.
Developed by Emilio Rivas, Luis Suárez, and Rubén García, the game explores the theme of "slaves to digital society." Each run consists of three nights, each ending when the phone's battery runs out or the character's sleepiness reaches its limit. As progress continues, the "dopamine quota" players must meet increases steadily.
The game features over 100 videos with various effects. The content players watch forms a deck to handle subsequent nights, while likes and reports adjust the videos that appear later, allowing players to gradually build a content combination suited to their playstyle. Infinite scrolling, recommendation feedback, and attention consumption are thus transformed into resource management and deck-building mechanics.
The full release of SKROLL is currently planned for Steam in 2027. The exact release date and price have not yet been announced, and Japanese language support is not available at this stage.
