"Kokon Tozai Derby," developed by indie developer fingerEase under the name Neo Enigmaniax, is scheduled for release on Steam for Windows on October 30, 2026. The game is priced at 790 yen and supports single-player offline mode as well as online multiplayer for 2 to 8 players.
This title combines the word-listing game "Kokon Tozai" with horse racing. Players name their horses based on prompts such as food, creatures, locations, or characters, then watch automated 3D simulated races. The horse's name determines its speed, stamina, power, grit, intelligence, running style, preferred distance, and coat color, with the same name always generating the same horse.
The core strategy involves finding names that fit the prompt while generating powerful racehorses. In online matches, players can vote to disqualify horses with names suspected of deviating from the prompt; if a majority agrees, the horse is removed from the race. During races, VOICEVOX synthetic voice will read out the player-chosen horse names.
The game features 289 categories of prompts, three race distances, three weather conditions, and four track states. It offers win and place bets purchasable with in-game currency, along with over 200 horse cosmetics that do not affect race outcomes. The free demo will be available until November 15 and supports online multiplayer for up to eight players.
