Rumor: Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire Switch Versions No Longer Planned for October Release

Rumors of an October release for the Switch ports of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire have taken a turn. Leaker Nick Baker stated that Nintendo no longer plans to release these two titles this month, though the relevant ports have yet to receive official confirmation.

爆料称《宝可梦 红宝石/蓝宝石》Switch版不再计划10月推出

Baker previously stated that the two classic titles were expected to launch on Switch in October. This update did not provide a new release window, nor did it indicate that the porting plans had been canceled; according to him, both games may still arrive on Nintendo's modern platforms in the future.

Following the release of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen on Switch within the year, several sources claimed that Nintendo might next tackle Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, with potential plans also including Pokémon Emerald.

If the ports are delayed until 2027, the period around February 27, "Pokémon Day," is speculated to be a possible announcement or release window. However, this timeframe is merely an inference based on the schedule of related events, not a new date provided by Baker, and has not been officially confirmed by Nintendo or The Pokémon Company. At present, the existence of the titles, the platforms involved, and the final release arrangements remain unknown.
