Multiple Japanese Games Including Granblue Fantasy Undergo Emergency Maintenance to Address Critical PHP Vulnerability

The PHP team is scheduled to release patches for two critical security vulnerabilities at 10 PM that night, both carrying a CVSS v4.0 score of 9.2. To promptly complete security updates, several Japanese games have subsequently announced server downtimes or maintenance.

The operators of Uma Musume Pretty Derby, Granblue Fantasy, Shadowverse: Beyond the World, and Princess Connect! Re:Dive have all clearly stated that this maintenance aims to address PHP security advisories and ensure system security. Touken Ranbu ONLINE has also been included in the list of services undergoing related maintenance.

Additionally, DMM, Pokémon Champions, Pokémon HOME, Sword Art Online: Critical Striker, and the official ANIMATE Japan website, among other game and anime-related services, have successively announced emergency maintenance plans for security enhancements.

Multiple publishers stated that, as of the announcement, they had not confirmed any exploitation of the vulnerabilities nor discovered any user data leaks. Therefore, these maintenance operations are preventive measures taken before and after the patch release, rather than responses to security breaches. Each service will undergo maintenance separately with no unified end time; players should pay attention to downtime schedules and restoration notices for their respective titles.
