CD Projekt Red has announced a major free update for Cyberpunk 2077, introducing dual-wielding weapons, mod functionality on consoles, new quests, and a wealth of customization options for appearances. Version 2.5 launches on October 22 and will also bring performance improvements.
This update celebrates the release of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 on Netflix, with all ten episodes of the standalone anime premiering on October 20th.
One of the biggest highlights of this update is the addition of dual-wielding weapons, a feature players have been eagerly anticipating for years. The new skill called "Double Trouble" is located in the "Cool" skill tree and allows V to equip two power pistols or revolvers simultaneously. Additionally, there are four more skills that further enhance this new combat mechanic.
The cyberware modification system has also been completely revamped, with five new "Glamdoc" locations offering unique visual upgrades for Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, and Projectile Launch System.
Cross-platform mod support is now available via mod.io. Players can now browse and install a variety of community-created mods directly through the game interface. This feature supports PC, Mac, PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S, with more mods expected to be added in the future. Unfortunately, console players using modded saves will not be able to earn achievements and trophies.
