German Indie Game "Death Party" Releases Developer Video, Launches Call for "Dead Block" Veterans Before Release

Summary: Radiation Blue has released a developer interview video for Dead Party, in which the creators showcase a Chinese copy of Dead Block and express their gratitude in Chinese. A campaign to reconnect with veteran players has also launched simultaneously. The game is scheduled to release on Steam and the Epic Games Store on October 30 (Beijing Time).

Developers Thank Chinese Players in Chinese

The video opens with footage of the studio, showing two lead developers at their workstations surrounded by sketches and figurines. They pull out posters from their previous work, discussing how they designed zombie traps under limited conditions and incorporated rock music into the game. The conversation soon turns to a nostalgic item: a Chinese-produced disc of Dead Block with Chinese text on the cover. According to the developers, this disc was sent by their Chinese partners, even though Dead Block was never officially released in China.

"Seeing this disc brought up complex emotions," one of the creators said in the video. The team was previously unaware that so many Chinese players had experienced their game, making this disc their earliest connection with the Chinese community. At the end of the video, the developers sincerely addressed the camera and said in imperfect Chinese, "Thank you for playing our game."

Veteran Player Reunion Event Launches Simultaneously

The event targets players who enjoyed Dead Block back in the day. To participate, simply share your memories in the official community—mentioning the year you played, the hardware you used, and any details you still remember counts. Those who have old discs, screenshots, or forum posts from that era are encouraged to share them as well.

The developers stated that many players have already joined since the event began. This initiative aims to reunite the original player base, bringing together those who shared the experience and documenting a part of gaming history that never had an official release channel in certain regions. Participants who share their stories will receive a copy of Dead Party, playable upon the full release. The event encourages players to invite their old gaming buddies back to relive those special memories.
