Escape the Playtime, a multiplayer co-op horror extraction game developed by Mob Entertainment, is now available in Early Access on Steam, priced at $9.99.A limited-time 10% discount is available during the launch period; players who own the free game Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1 can receive an additional 10% off.
Set within the Poppy Playtime universe, the story takes place after the #Funtime incident but before Chapter 1 of the series. For the first time, players return to the Playtime Co. toy factory from the perspective of the Smiling Critters.
Each mission takes you into dynamically changing areas of the factory. Teams need to gather and transport resources, solve puzzles, find tools and hiding spots, while avoiding dangerous discarded creations and evacuating in time. Proximity voice chat makes communication a key part of cooperation, but the sounds you make can also reveal your location.
The game originally launched its public test with a focus on four-player co-op. Based on player feedback, the development team expanded connectivity features, and the Early Access version now supports one to eight players playing together. The initial release includes all eight Smiling Critters, four of which must be unlocked through progression.
For the first 30 days after launch, players can also claim the Founder's Pack for free. The team plans to continue adding areas, enemies, items, cosmetics, and gameplay features throughout the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.
