Publisher Joystick Ventures and developer Fictiorama Studios have announced that Do Not Feed the Monkeys 2099 is now available on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, with launch trailers released for both versions. The game was previously launched on Steam on May 25, 2023, bringing its surveillance investigation gameplay to console platforms.
Set in a future society where privacy has nearly vanished, players will observe strangers through hidden cameras, gather information, connect clues, uncover the secrets behind the surveillance footage, and join an organization called the "Primate Observation Club."
The club requires members not to interfere with the subjects under observation, but players can choose to remain passive observers or intervene in their lives, with different decisions leading to corresponding consequences. Beyond investigation, players must also attend to their own needs and manage finances, combining narrative investigation with resource management gameplay.
Following the PC release, the game's setting, narrative, and darkly humorous take on mass surveillance received positive reviews from critics, currently holding a Metacritic media score of 81. While the PS4 and Switch releases are confirmed, details regarding pricing, regional differences, and whether additional content is included have not yet been announced.
