RAYBIS Games released the demo for "The Staring Man" on Steam on October 22. This first-person short horror game, developed by TADAIMA WORKS, is set in a late-night convenience store, where players face a steadily approaching observer during their first night shift.
Players take on the role of a convenience store night shift clerk, handling daily tasks such as cashiering, restocking items, and cleaning the store. However, a man stands across the street, constantly staring at the shop: he remains motionless when watched, but may quietly move closer whenever the player looks away.
Customers entering the store also notice this man, and inexplicable events begin to occur inside. The manager has instructed the player to ignore him, forcing the player to choose between continuing their work and confirming the threat's location.
In addition to directly observing the commotion across the street, players can investigate the truth through customer conversations, clues in the store, and surveillance footage. The demo includes the prologue of the full version, which is the first night shift, allowing players to experience the game's atmosphere, basic controls, and narrative style. The PC demo is currently available on Steam.
