NicoNico has concluded the emergency maintenance that began at 19:00 on October 21, and multiple services including the main video site have resumed normal operation. This downtime was a preventive measure against a major vulnerability previously announced in PHP; no attacks or data breaches have been confirmed at this time.
Jotaro Kurita, head of NicoNico, first announced the service restoration via his personal account, after which the official account confirmed that maintenance for multiple services had been completed. Restored services include NicoNico Channel, premium membership, points, ads and gift features, creator support, NicoNico Garage, NicoNico Manga, and related applications.
NicoNico Seiga and the Creator Reward Program were also included in this maintenance. NicoNico Live and NicoNico Pedia use technical architectures unaffected by this vulnerability, so they remained operational during the maintenance period.
During the same period, several official game websites also underwent emergency maintenance due to the same PHP security advisory. Currently,
the vulnerability ID, affected PHP versions, and specific patching methods have not yet been disclosed, nor is there any information indicating that intrusions have been detected.
