"It: Welcome to Derry" Season 2 Enters Pre-Production, Story Focuses on the Bradley Gang

The classic "IT: Welcome to Derry" Season 2 is currently advancing through writing and pre-production.

Creator Brad Caleb Kane told Entertainment Weekly that the new season's visual tone will be significantly different from Season 1. Set in 1935 during the Great Depression, it can be imagined as a Warner Bros. gangster film presented from the perspectives of Pennywise and Stephen King.

He stated that the writers' room is working at full capacity, with multiple scripts completed and more than half of the season's story already shaped. The team has also begun gradually entering pre-production; the new season will be bloodier, and its narrative atmosphere will differ significantly from Season 1.

In the timeline, Season 2 takes place 27 years before Season 1 and will focus on the Bradley Gang in Derry's history. This group of criminals robbed local stores and banks in the 1930s, led by brothers George and Al Bradley, with George's wife, Kitty Donahue, also frequently participating in violent acts.

The series continues to use the structure of tracing Pennywise's activities every 27 years. The cast has not been officially announced; materials only mention that statements from the creative team increase the likelihood of Bill Skarsgård returning as Pennywise, so this should not be considered confirmed.
