Fan Browser Solution Brings Both 'Resident Evil Outbreak' Titles to Life with Single-Player and Online Co-op Support

The fan project OutbreakWeb offers a new way to play Resident Evil: Outbreak and Resident Evil: Outbreak File #2. Players can access the games directly through a browser, choosing to play solo or creating private rooms to invite friends for online cooperation.

《生化危机:爆发》两作迎来粉丝浏览器方案 支持单人及在线合作

Before this project emerged, players wanting to revisit the online modes of these two titles typically had to use emulators and connect to community-restored servers, which involved a higher configuration barrier. A browser-based solution could make the multiplayer experience of these older titles more accessible.

Resident Evil: Outbreak does not focus its narrative on a single protagonist. Instead, players take on the roles of ordinary residents trying to escape Raccoon City during the viral outbreak. The game supports up to four players progressing through the same scenario together, requiring teamwork under pressure from limited resources and survival threats. Resident Evil: Outbreak File #2 continues this approach, adding new locations, enemies, and story scenarios.

Currently, OutbreakWeb is described only as a fan-initiated project, with no information indicating it has been authorized by Capcom. Details regarding the project's technical implementation, game data sources, supported regions, save mechanisms, and long-term operational plans have not been disclosed. Players should verify the project's requirements and compliance on their own before attempting to play.
