Fan Hongxuan, who played Gongsun Ce in the 1990s CTS version of "Bao Qing Tian," has made a good recovery after nearly two months of rest. His friend, veteran television producer Yang Shaohong, recently visited him in Taipei and held a belated celebration for his 80th birthday.
Yang Shaohong later shared a photo of the two on social media. In the picture, Fan Hongxuan, dressed in dark striped casual wear, is seen smiling in front of a birthday cake. Yang Shaohong stated that Fan Hongxuan is in good spirits and even walks faster than he does, indicating his health has recovered to a fairly good level. Fan Hongxuan underwent a "moderate-sized" surgery in August 2026, but no specific details about his condition or the type of surgery have been disclosed.
Last year, while participating in an online channel program, Fan Hongxuan discussed his retirement life. He mentioned that as he has aged, his ability to handle stress has declined. In the past, he would suffer from insomnia due to nervousness every time he received a script, lasting until filming wrapped up, so he feels he "can't act anymore" and has no plans to return to film or television production. He also noted that his former "Bao Qing Tian" co-star Jin Chaoqun rarely makes public appearances these days.
