New leaks have further disclosed more details about the rumored LEGO original PlayStation set, including set specifications, price, release date, and two game-themed dioramas. The set, numbered 72306, consists of 1,911 pieces, is scheduled for release on October 1, and is priced at $160.
According to brick news media Brick Tap, this model will recreate the original PlayStation console in nearly 1:1 scale. When assembled and opened, the console measures approximately 26 cm in width and 17 cm in height. The set also includes a first-generation-style PlayStation controller without analog sticks.
The LEGO PS1 set reportedly features pull-out structures on both sides of the console, housing miniature dioramas themed around Gran Turismo and Ape Escape. The model also hides other Easter eggs and includes numerous exclusive pieces designed specifically to pay homage to the original console and its games.
Previously, LEGO YouTube blogger Brick Clicker revealed that set 72306 contains 1,911 pieces and is priced at approximately $160 or £140. The earlier report also mentioned that the set might include additional game-related accessories.
It is reported that the set will be launched alongside the LEGO Astro Bot set (40899) as a gift with purchase. Customers who meet the spending threshold at LEGO retail stores or on the official website will receive it while supplies last.
