A fan-made "Modern Version" mod for Dino Crisis 1 has been released, primarily redesigning the game's camera and controls. This mod changes the original fixed-camera perspective, similar to early Resident Evil titles, to a third-person over-the-shoulder view, and incorporates movement and control schemes akin to the newer Resident Evil games. PC players can use mouse and keyboard, aiming and shooting at dinosaurs with the mouse.
Video Showcase:
In terms of visual features, this mod adds settings for shadows, ambient occlusion, and anti-aliasing, while also providing complete facial animations and lip-syncing for characters. The game now supports 16:9, 21:9, and 32:9 aspect ratios without stretching the widescreen image, offers up to 4K resolution, and allows you to choose between 30, 60, or 120 FPS.
The "Modern Version" also supports the continued installation of other mods. The program reads from a dedicated mod folder at runtime, allowing players to export or replace characters, rooms, textures, sounds, and video content using companion tools.
