About two days after the announcement trailer for Shrek 2 Remake went live on PlayStation's official YouTube channel, it had surpassed 2 million views. The GTA 6 release trailer, which was uploaded to the same channel nearly a week earlier, had around 1.6 million views at that time.
This data is limited to two videos uploaded on the PlayStation channel and does not represent the overall popularity of all official trailers for both games across all platforms. Rockstar's release trailer for GTA 6, published on its official YouTube channel on October 15, attracted more viewers, while the version on the PlayStation channel was uploaded later.
The contrast in view counts also carries a parodic tone. The trailer for Shrek 2 Remake adopts a style, color scheme, and presentation similar to the GTA 6 marketing campaign, making the comparison of data between the two videos on the same channel a topic of discussion.
Shrek 2 Remake, developed by Aspyr, will launch on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2 on November 10, 2026. The game will feature improved visuals while retaining its four-player co-op mode.
