Techland has released Update 1.30 for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, bringing Halloween celebration content with the patch. The version number displayed on consoles is 2.01 or 2.001, and the three-week "Halloween Showdown 2026" event begins on October 26.

After the update, the Villedor open world is adorned with Day of the Dead-themed decorations, while the "Tower Raid" mode adopts a more traditional Halloween atmosphere, bringing back themed enemies. The event runs until November 16, featuring two competing Halloween monsters each week.

During the event, players must hunt special enemies to collect "Showdown Candies" scattered across Villedor, then deliver them to Baka's shop in the Bazaar to support their chosen side. The patch also updates the opening cinematic and the video played when skipping the prologue, aligning their visuals with the game's subsequent graphical improvements, and adjusts the narration for a more natural introduction to the world.

This update also fixes several issues, including old-world currency and pistol maintenance kits sharing inventory slots, third-person mode shots deviating from the crosshair, some ambushes being prematurely revealed due to missing truck tarps, and NPCs clipping through scene objects. On the technical front, the patch addresses Intel XeSS-related crashes, performance dropping to 8 FPS when XeSS and V-Sync are enabled simultaneously, audio loss after about ten minutes of gameplay, and severe flickering when FSR Frame Generation is enabled.
