Aniplex and animation studio A-1 Pictures have officially confirmed the production of a new season of the Fate/strange Fake anime. The producers released the first trailer and new key visual, confirming that the large-scale adaptation of this popular branch of the TYPE-MOON universe will continue.
Trailer PV:
The story is set in Snowfield, USA, where a ritual known as the "False Holy Grail War" erupts. This work is adapted from the light novel of the same name by Ryohgo Narita (known for Baccano! and Durarara!!). In the new arc, the confrontation between magi and their summoned Heroic Spirits will escalate to unprecedented levels of destruction, completely twisting the traditional rules of the Holy Grail War.
A-1 Pictures will once again handle the animation production for the new season, with Hiroyuki Sawano returning to compose the soundtrack. The high-quality visuals and intense battle animation of the first season set a very high standard for the series, which also places greater demands on the complexity and workload of the overall production process.
The original light novel has been published by Dengeki Bunko since 2015, with nine volumes released so far, and the final volume is highly anticipated. Currently, the specific broadcast date for the second season of Fate/strange Fake has not been announced.
