Leaked Details of Cancelled Mass Effect 5: Customizable Protagonist, Galactic Cold War, and More

The cancellation of Mass Effect 5 has left fans of the series deeply disappointed. Recently, Australian gaming blogger Dantics leaked a large amount of confidential information about Mass Effect 5 that was previously under non-disclosure agreements. Dantics was a member of the "Mass Effect Advisory Council," a group of content creators and industry enthusiasts invited to playtest and provide feedback to the development team. He has publicly detailed various designs originally planned for the game.

According to Dantics, players will control a fully customizable N7 operative, described as a combination of "John Wick and James Bond." The story takes place over 600 years after the Reaper War. Regardless of which ending players chose in the original trilogy, Shepard's spiritual legacy endures in this era. The core of the story is a galactic cold war, with the galaxy split into three opposing factions. The key figure connecting the entire narrative is Liara T'Soni, Shepard's old comrade and Asari romance option from the previous games. After centuries, she has grown into an incredibly powerful Asari Matriarch.
