God-Tier Low-Profile Card! AMD RX 9060 XT Low-Profile Card Tested: 20W Less Power, Only 7% Performance Drop

According to actual test data from reviewer ETA Prime, AMD's quietly released half-height RX 9060 XT graphics card late last year performs only about 7% slower than the 160W standard version.

This test features the Haikai RX 9060 XT 16GB LP graphics card. As a rare low-profile flagship in AMD's lineup, this product adopts a compact dual-slot, half-height design, eliminating redundant cooling volume to fit small form-factor PCs with limited space.

To balance cooling and performance, its total board power is set at 140W, a reduction of about 12.5% compared to the original 160W.

In specific benchmarks, this low-profile card scored 3583 in the 3DMark Steel Nomad test, about 6.2% slower than the standard version's 3820. In the Time Spy test, it achieved 15057 points, trailing the standard version (16333) by approximately 7.8%.

Actual gaming performance was even more surprising. At ultra-high settings, this low-profile card achieved a smooth 70 FPS in the remastered Horizon Zero Dawn, and reached 76 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077.

With FSR Quality mode enabled, DOOM: The Dark Ages even surged to a high of 105 FPS.

It is worth noting that AMD's strategy for half-height graphics cards differs slightly from Nvidia's. Nvidia typically does not directly define half-height models, leaving most modifications to partner manufacturers, whereas AMD has assigned an independent SKU number for the RX 9060 XT LP.

This not only ensures driver-level optimization but also reserves about 15W of overclocking headroom. Players can use overclocking tools like MSI Afterburner to unlock the power limit to around 155W.

However, this impressive graphics card is currently facing severe supply issues. Due to a shortage of upstream VRAM chips, apart from a few manufacturers like Haikai, most other brands are adopting a wait-and-see approach towards these specialized models.
