Valve officially launched the Steam Personalized Calendar on October 24, 2026. This feature curates games that users might be interested in from recent releases and upcoming titles, displaying the results directly within the Steam Store.
The Personalized Calendar was first opened for beta testing as part of Steam Labs in October 2025. It has since been adjusted based on feedback from players and developers, and has now moved to its official release.
The recommendation system learns from user play activity daily, with playtime being a key factor in determining preferences. Briefly trying out one or two new games for just a few minutes typically won't significantly impact recommendations. Valve also explicitly states in its FAQ that there are no paid placement slots for developers or publishers within the calendar.
Regarding concerns about "filter bubbles" where recommendation algorithms might lead to homogeneous content, Valve stated that it is aware of these risks and will strive to maintain diversity in its recommendations. The feature consolidates newly released titles and future release schedules into a personal calendar, with game visibility still determined by system matching.
