Powered by Native DLSS 5, Bloodborne PC Port Achieves Stable 47 FPS on Mobile

BloodborneX 1.0.0 has been officially released, marking a major update for this unofficial PC port of Bloodborne.

The core technical breakthrough in this update is the native integration of NVIDIA's latest DLSS 5 neural rendering technology. This marks the first time this game, originally running on last-generation consoles, has officially gained AI-powered image reconstruction capabilities on the PC platform.

According to the developer, the project runs on the Vulkan graphics API, uses a modified version of the Lantern Engine 1.0.0 library, and targets 64-bit Windows systems.

To run the game and properly initialize the neural network algorithms, users need to manually place the nvgx_dlssnr.dll dynamic link library into the directory containing the executable file.

The modified graphics menu offers fine-grained adjustment options: in addition to selecting NVIDIA DLSS upscaling and toggling frame generation, it includes scaling presets based on a 1280x720 rendering resolution, an RCAS sharpening filter with texture mipmap adjustments, and subpixel jitter suppression.

There are more adjustable options for the DLSS neural rendering component, including input reconstruction resolution, overall effect intensity, rendering style, neural network architecture presets, additional frame processing passes, and local scene geometry preservation.

In practical tests, the author demonstrated performance using a mobile GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU (with 8GB VRAM). In open-area scenes, the project achieved a stable frame rate of 45 to 47 FPS, with frame generation times between 21.4 and 22.4 milliseconds, and no significant performance drops were observed throughout.

The author has currently released a 176MB integrated package, LanternEngine-nr-1.0.0-win64.zip, along with the complete source code, in the public repository on GitHub.
